Because of you & I..

Image
At times when I am anxious, feeling jittery I think of you. I think of you, you who is not yet here, you who hasn’t yet walked into my life, and you who might not walk into my life, who knows. I’m not disheartened or upset by the fact, rather this thought is so powerful that I feel whole!   I think of you, you who I lean upon, you who I unconditionally love. On a hot summer day, you are like the cool breeze that hits me, brings me right back and makes me feel home. You are my shelter, even though I am my home. You are my pillar, whereas I am my foundation. How glued are we together, but still how beautifully can we drift!   I know in me is you, and that bit of you is what I’ll carry to my grave and beyond. To my grave and beyond, I promise shall you go with me, and so many more bits of you’ll.   Bits of the stranger who smiled at me that afternoon, the bits of my mother waking me up for school, the bits of my grandma plating the pudding fo...

The tiny human, little me!

Image
I locked myself away from all the screens, all the music, all the support and light, I sat down in the quite corner in my home, in silence and stared at a photograph from my childhood. Time kept passing by, but I didn’t waiver, I kept on staring. Trying to remember each detail, trying to go back to the little me. I was trying so hard, and for so many times until now, that I really wanted for it to work this time.   I really wanted to remember each detail about the little me, about how she looked and smiled, Because I really wanted to be able to see her when I close my eyes. I wanted to be able to visualize her. I wanted to see her in front of me when I close my eyes.   And blessed was I, because that someday was today, yes, I succeeded, I met her, I could see her today. This tiny little human stood in front of me, smiling, unaware all the reality rushing towards her. Unaware of all the not so big things, that will take her away from all her little joys....

Romanticize the monotony

Image
There are thoughts that come and go, you think of many things right, you might have picked them up from something you saw today or heard someone say or read it in a book or so many more such instances. Then there are thoughts instilled by society, thoughts that are running through you since generations, so deep and rooted that they never seem to leave. Or at times they are so deep rooted that it becomes quite difficult to even notice their presence. One such thought I always struggled with was that of – “You don’t have enough time, enough time to achieve, to love, to travel and what not!” Yes, I am pro for - Carpe diem, yes seize the moment, yes live as if it is your last day – but don’t rush. Don’t rush through it all, through the bucket list or to do’s or simply your wants.    Don’t sprint on the sidewalks, enjoy them. Don’t tap your foot when on the metro, don’t stare at the clock for the time to pass. Don’t do that! These are all moments that are happening to you in your “...

We are all growing and how different!

Image
Cr: SOOSH How wonderfully have we been growing through life. Maybe you noticed it or maybe you didn’t, but you are growing through life. There is no other way, how can you live a day and not grow? Does that make sense, not to me at least. Let me tell you a little about how I realised that even though we are all growing, how different it is for each one of us and what made me look at it all differently. I was sitting on the sofa, with my coffee and trying to have the best of time while sipping it listening to my favourite song. My father while walking across rooms, trying to find his glasses or maybe was on call, I don’t exactly remember. Song after song, from my most cherished playlist kept playing and I was humming along, sipping coffee and to put it simply, was in heaven! An hour later, my father sat next to me and we talked about the coffee, how strong it was and how I loved it, just like him. And that is when, the playlist ended and he said to me – “The kind of music yo...

Home - a sense of warmth

Image
Home, what a beautiful word. The word itself radiates warmth; makes you feel like spring is around the corner. It makes you feel as if it’s time to let go of all that worries you and just bloom. Just be. It’s a safe haven, where we can be our truest version, without any judgements or stares or doubt. No filters and no burden to fit in or be good enough. Every house isn’t a home, of course there is food, shelter and clothes in both but love is what makes the difference. Love, now that’s a tough one, or maybe not, I still wonder. For me, home and love are both the same, a sense of warmth. Close your eyes, imagine yourself with a cup of coffee, a blanket wrapped around you and right then the cold breeze that gently touches you with the sun shining brightly above. The feeling is of warmth; that is how a house should feel when there is love – that’s a Home! I’m not talking about your lover or soulmate when I talk of love, rather I am purely talking of the sense of warmth. When...
